DR Lowly (Low Lee Yong)

Coming from a background in medicine and entrepreneurship, my path has led me to the vibrant world of abstract art. The leadership experiences and success I gained in the healthtech industry instilled in me a deep appreciation for vision, discipline, and relentless pursuit of excellence. Now, as a self-taught (“autodidactic”) artist, I find immense satisfaction in creating dynamic, colorful abstract pieces.
I developed my signature technique, known as “squeeze and splatter,” which involves using acrylics on canvases, resulting in artworks that are both spontaneous and resonant.
Nature serves as my endless muse – from manicured gardens to wild forests and towering peaks. The rich tapestry of colors and the beauty my wife and I experienced during our years of travel to many countries inspires my art, paying homage to fiery sunsets, changing seasons, quiet glacier retreats, and intricate natural patterns.
Through my creations, I capture ephemeral beauty and enduring hope, reflecting life’s fleeting nature alongside boundless possibilities.
In a world dominated by screens and materialism, my art offers a sanctuary. It serves as a guiding light, uplifting spirits and encouraging moments of quiet reflection.
Through the interplay of color and form, I aim to spark joy, ignite optimism, and inspire contemplation about our shared journey – where we come from and where we are ultimately headed.
Having built and sold a successful healthtech business, I now enjoy retirement and financial freedom. My love for painting has become a central focus, and I’m grateful that I can pursue my passion without the pressure of relying on it for a living.
Amidst the challenges posed by Covid, my artistic flame reignited, and I find solace in creating artworks almost daily. The recognition I’ve received through art magazines published in Netherland and Germany as well as exhibitions in London, Toronto, and the USA further fuels my creative journey.
